报告摘要: This series of lectures presents a spectral theory for non-commuting operators. In the finite-dimensional case, this constitutes a multivariable extension of linear algebra, generalizing classical concepts such as eigenvalues, characteristic polynomials, and the Cayley-Hamilton theorem. In the infinite-dimensional setting, we focus on the projective spectra of operators associated with self-similar groups.
报告人简介:Rongwei Yang is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY), USA. He received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Stony Brook University, SUNY. His research focuses on functional analysis, multivariable operator theory, spectral theory, group representations, and mathematical physics. He is internationally recognized for his pioneering contributions to operator theory and Hardy spaces over the bidisc, and is widely regarded as one of the leading figures in this area. His influential work on submodules, quotient modules, and multivariable operator theory has shaped the modern development of Hardy space theory on the bidisc. In 2023, Professor Yang was awarded a prestigious five-year Simons Foundation grant, recognizing his fundamental contributions to spectral theory and noncommuting operators. He is also the author of the recent Springer monograph《A Spectral Theory of Noncommuting Operators》, in addition to numerous influential research articles in operator theory and functional analysis.
